Turtlemayor333 07/11/18 1:00:45 AM #19:	Universities approach plagiarism with a one-size-fits-all mentality. For some assignments it's fair to have a strict stance, but for others it makes no sense. I was a teaching assistant and nobody was copying Wikipedia for their finals or whatever, the only time it ever came up was with random assignments like "summarize X reading." But it's silly, obviously I know and the student knows exactly where the information came from, yet I have to act like they were stealing if a sentence is too close to what was in the book they were specifically told to use. It also doesn't help that citation is an imperfect science.
