They have metrics as far as people changing channels at certain intervals. And YouTube itself provides analytics for average time watched for videos. The problem is the context. No one has complained about the length of Game of Thrones or Stranger Things or Walking Dead. But YouTube videos are more likely to benefit from shorter lengths.
