No he was actually talking about elections where his party might gain power. This was obvious from the start. I don't expect Mitch to stop being a piece of shit but I do hate when Republicans try to act like this is based on real moral or ethical principles.

Political affiliation isnt even relevant--if I were a democrat I would say they were just as scummy. Crap like this is why American democracy is broken.

I actually 100% agree that the democrats would have done the exact same thing, had the roles been reversed.

I doubt it. The democratic party has no balls, and routinely gets steamrolled by republicans.

I do feel bad for Garland though. Imagine working your entire career, getting nominated for the highest possible position, then getting fucked by a chain of freak scenarios involving Mitch McConnell abusing his power and a reality TV star becoming president.

Yeah because the republicans are in power. If the roles were reversed, they wouldn't be.

Yeah because the republicans are in power. If the roles were reversed, they wouldn't be.

Doubt it, but these sorts of arguments are stupid and un-provable.

And I'm not trying to state that it's a fact, it's just a belief that I hold, based on what I've seen. Gerrymandering, for example, is often touted by liberal media to be a conservative tactic used to consolidate power. In reality, it's used by anyone in power, and there are plenty of examples of democrats using it in this day and age. This and other examples lead me to believe that establishment politicians are partisan, self-serving hacks who will first and foremost seek to perpetuate their power and influence unless they are hard pressed by their base.
