Did anyone else do this?

You go to the pirate map with the arena
Drop a mine, make an enemy walk into it. As its exploding, turn off the game and turn it back on. Due to auto save it will reload at the enemies turn and they will walk into the mine again. This triggers the glitch and allows you to control all enemy units for that turn only (you must be able to see them so no fog of war shenanigans).
Then you make all enemies drop their weapons. They are literally defenceless and even your weakest units can solo the map.

On top of that its the earliest map with an arena + no fog of war, so you can use the arena to grind all your units to lvl 20. You can also evolve a few by then and get those few to 20/20, extremely early in the game

Absolutely breaks the game.

I've been playing sacred stones and arena abused my team. Im on ch 16 and I've cleared the tower and all my unites are promoted and past level 5. Its so fun

Yeah, and in FE8 you can do it with the flame spots on the ground as well.

you can just arena abuse on that level indefinitely anyway, there is no point in using the mine glitch

now i wanna do a FE7 run through with deaths and no reset/arena abuse

Actually, i could never grind a general up. It would always send me into battle against swordmasters and the likem but due to them being swordmasters they are fast and high evasion. And they always have silver weapons so that they can damage your general. The end result is i could never grind my general because swordmasters are too hard

On the flip side, your swordmasters were the easiest to level up, and ended up being your strongest units anyway

The pirates are super tough otherwise, plus theres no reinforcements so its a good investment of a mine.

I laugh every time someone complains about being able to grind in the newer games, when it was much faster and easier with the arenas.

do you have a recommended affinity/birth month? also who should i use afa's drops on?

I dont know what the affinity and months do.
Afas drops increased stat growth right? I used those on Nino or whatever, the mage that comes with Jaffar. She already has insane growth but with the drops she becomes your best unit.

If you don't want to use Nino, you can just give them to your favorite unit. Preferably one that still has quite a few levels to go before they're maxed.

Mine glitch to grind the hell out of Nino was actually one of the more entertaining aspects of FE7 lul

Serra is an alright healer. But you should have gotten a game over when lyn died. I wouldnt continue on without serra.

i restarted. finished the tutorial and like two chapters of Eliwood's route, i just got Hector actually.

i don't wanna use my lords because of a fear of gameover

Use your lords so that they level up and can defend themselves.
Hector is an excellent unit who you want to use anyway. Lyn is also pretty good.

That feel when you have most of your team leveled and the enemy myrmidon in the arena gets a lucky crit off a 1% killing your mercenary
