I hardly play any RPGs, but I spent about 35 hours playing through that back in 2007, and really enjoyed it. Beautiful graphics, generally really good characters, and the gameplay was pretty good. I didn't much like the last bits of the game, though.

The ending was literally the most cringeworthy thing I've ever seen in a JRPG. Anime trope characters staring at the screen and making Millennial-approved political pleas to the real world.

The Prologue Demo is out. It's actually really good. Already got the full game preordered

I was hyped for it based on the 2D 3D art style, but the gameplay looks too generically retro RPG for my taste, and I also wish the sprite work was more interesting and animated.
