I started playing Persona 5 a few days ago, my first Persona game, and I love it. Even though I'm hardly through the game at all, I know I really would like to play some of the earlier games and it got me thinking about PS Vitas again.

I've mulled over getting one for awhile but I could never really justify it. I can only think of a handful of actual Vita games I'd get, but there're also PSP and PS1 games I could download, and it's always an enticing thought.

But these things can still run a pretty hefty price, all things considered. Even Playstation TV (which I'm not totally sure of compatibility things) can be the price I'd rather pay for the actual handheld. And then there's the memory cards and all.

Nothing new of course, but something I've been thinking about.

pstv is compatible with most games iirc, there's probably a list you can check (and should check if there are just a few specifics you're really interested in) but I don't think your default stance should be worrying about compatibility.

maybe you can find one used? they're not super popular so might be able to get it cheap

Should've went to GameStop like last week. They were doing a buy 2 get 1 free on all preowned products including consoles and memory cards. Otherwise hit Craigslist or eBay.

I got mine for 120 and it came with a 16gb memory card, I could totally imagine potentially getting one for 100

I found one on ebay that I won $85 but the asshole shipped me a broken Vita on an auction he labeled it as 'fully operational' in the condition section but wrote 'as is' in the title. I don't know if that guy thought that means it is fine to categorize something as 'fully operational' while broken as long as he put a non-binding 'as is' in the title of the auction. I also had communication asking him questions before bidding on it that he answered and assured it was a fully operational Vita.

So I get it and it the moment I turned it on and it was stuck constantly pressing down, the touch screen didn't work, and the O didn't work at all. Plus If the system was in standby for more than 5 seconds the entire system shut down and required holding the power button for a solid 60 seconds before it turned back on.

I message him within 10 minutes of me opening the damn box. He tried getting me to do a ton of 'home remedies' as he is 'shocked' the vita didn't work. A few examples he had was me opening it up and dusting it. Taking it to a repair shop for a 'second opinion', and the last one was 'pour rubbing alcohol into the vita and blow it out with compressed air'. I'm like fucking no dude I'm not gonna fucking do anything that makes it impossible to return it. I told him about 3 times I just want to return the system and kept asking him to process a return. He relented. Once I returned it he tried telling ebay I broke it. Our messages back and forth show me showing multiple levels of proof it was broken, such as a video of all the issues.

He lost the dispute and I gave my first negative feedback score ever on ebay.

That fucker is a fucker.

Well, the vita is gonna get more expensive the longer you wait. Especially since Sony is already slowly phasing out the vita.
-they no long mass produce vita tv's
-vita game cartridges are expected to cease production soon

I have a Vita I'm keeping on an older firmware but I want a second one, hopefully an original model for the OLED screen to play more modern games on. So it's not a huge priority. I haven't been keeping up with the scene either so I dunno if it's fine to update it anyway.

Most of what I'm seeing is around $130 for just the console. Again, it's not that expensive I guess, but taking into account games and a memory card? Eugh...

I think I might look more into a Playstation TV. I would rather the actual handheld though. I'll likely find this looking for information, but can you stream Vita games to a TV through remote play, or is it strictly PS4 games to Vita?

Sellers literally have a zero percent chance of winning any dispute, ever. This was verified to me by multiple Ebay reps. I ran into that problem last summer as a seller, when some guy claimed I sent him curtains instead of a bunch of WWE DVDs. I had been using Ebay since 2000 or so, and I've sworn it off because of that experience.

To be fair the guy was trying to fucking pin a broken Vita on me.

I already own a 32GB card that I got for like $40 due to some weird pricing error on Sony's website and Best Buy price matching it. So I'm not too bothered by it. I also got an 8GB card for free from Amazon as they sent me one, then never actually marked it as shipped, but I got it, and then they automatically refunded it to me after a month later when they said they couldn't send it to me. lol

I'm more interested in the PSTV more then an actual Vita. Does it play PSP and Vita games? Only downloaded games or physical games too?

You want keep in mind that certain vita games are not playable on the vita tv (usually those that require touchscreen/rear touchpad as major gameplay components).
