Ive never seen it but I just finished a rewatch of Mad Men which is my absolute favorite show ever.

Just finished the first episode and I like it so farseems a bit dense and Im somewhat confused at whats going on with all the monsters but Tonys plight through depression is very intriguing (and similar to Mad MenBetty saw a psychologist in season 1).

It's a great show, but very heavy on metaphorical imagery. If you're the sort of person that used to hate English teachers explaining that the door being red was a metaphor for the character's anger and stuff like that you might find it quite slow.

sopranos is probably the best tv show ever made imo, enjoy

season 1 is a little bit slow but eventually you'll warm up and know the characters, the subplots etc. as someone else said, the episode "college" is where the show really grows into itself.

its hard to put into words how good james gandolfini's acting job is as tony soprano, and the writing is equally as good. he's a VERY complex character.

I guess if you like mad men you could dig it. My girlfriend got into the sopranos and whenever she'd watch it I'd fall asleep.

Just finished the third episode. This show is pretty awesome.

I can't get over how similar Tony feels to Don Draper. I mean, obviously they're very different people, but both are incredibly complex and every episode adds nuance to their character while also showing their flaws (Tony attacking the guy with the telephone in the third episode, as a way to express his anger towards his mom/her situation). The storytelling, so far, is actually a bit on-the-nose; the psychiatrist sessions basically outline what Tony is thinking, whereas you'd have to infer in Mad Men (although the advertising pitches usually bring insight to the characters' thoughts and emotions).

Haha thats why Im watching it :)

Also that scene of the crew visiting the caf and complaining how they stole Italian creations was laugh-out-loud funny
In fact, that side story of trying to help out a science teacher by finding his stolen car was pretty wholesome (Im a teacher myself)
