How they fuck am I missing so many hits when it says hit rate is 71% or 90% but enemies are smacking my ass at 29% or 51%

How do you "git gud" when whether you hit an enemy or not is down to literal chance?

Previous Fire Emblem games had this problem but SoV is like it on steroids lol

It's not that the maps are hard or anything, it's that the RNG is the most untrustworthy in the series to date

I dropped the series after it became a waifu simulator.

But doing things like H5 shadow dragon (no warp cheese) is still fun

It's not that the maps are hard or anything, it's that the RNG is the most untrustworthy in the series to date

Echoes runs on single RNG like 1-5 did. The rest of the games ran on double RNG https://serenesforest.net/general/true-hit/ and fates ran on single rng below 50% and kind of double RNG above 50%.

Though the thing that plagues gaiden is just how much AVO random terrain bonuses give you including fucking 20 just by indoor tiles.

It doesnt matter since your melee units when upgraded a little bit will be crazy powerful and can tank like 20 hits

Echoes is infinitely better than the garbage that is shadow dragon and it's a bit better than new mystery too.

Shadows of Valentia uses the actual value displayed instead of what the other Western-released FE games did, which was roll the RNG twice and then use the average (which resulted in attacks hitting more than they should).

As such, even 90% attacks will miss more than you're probably accustomed to.

Only two hard levels were... One on the guy's side where you have x turns to kill the boss, and the final one which is just tedious but can be done. They took out the guaranteed ez win against the final boss though so it took me a few dozen tries to get down. Having cruddy units on the girls side since you can't grind their levels in the last dungeon sucks arse.
