Not at this rate.

Funny anecdote - I ran into a white South African woman at work yesterday. We started talking and I learned she moved to the US before Trump out of fear for her safety - there's a lot of racist sentiment left over in South Africa from the Apartheid area.

Now she's moving back because she'd rather deal with that than live under Trump. That's saying something about how he appears to the rest of the world.

That says she's an idiot. Nothing Trump has done warrants going back to a country that is actively acting against you. The only thing Trump is actively doing against anyone is kicking pull out of a country that's not even theirs.

I mean look at Clinton, Bush and Obama after two terms.

They know things that can't be spoken of and it's damaged their sanity.

I think Bush and Clinton were reasonably sane after 2 terms. Barack Obama did seem like damaged goods, though. He reminded me of Blair, in the sense that he had visibly aged so much.

He barely scraped through by the thinnest of margins the first time around, and he hasn't exactly become more popular or well-liked since.

Also Dems are dragging their dicks over miles of broken glass to vote in elections now, unlike in 2016.

But then again I thought he'd lose the first time so what do I know

WTF is this other than blatant sexism? The problem with Hillary was certainly not her qualifications and Trump had no government experience of any kind and it shows through his incompetence at actually being a chief executive or getting legislation passed. Hillary was in no way a diversity candidate. It seems like "most qualified" for you means a white male as it does for many.

Im not just talking about job qualifications. All around as a candidate. They pushed her because she was a woman and made that the entire reason to vote for her. She was not a good Secretary of State and incredibly unlikeable, but the glass ceiling had to be broken. You put the best candidate out there regardless of race and sex.

But there you go, going straight for the racism/sexism card. This is why trump will win 2020

She was the most popular candidate with the widest support. She had the highest qualifications, money, name recognition, etc. She had a detailed platform and never herself relied solely on the fact that she's a woman. That's a myth created by right wingers and Bernie bros. Not to mention she actually received the most votes. She was considered a pretty okay SOS by anyone who wasn't duped by Benghazi trash.

Calling her a diversity candidate when she was A US senator, first lady, and SOS, as well as a Yale law graduate, is sexist AF regardless of your "you called me out for my assholery, I'll vote for Trump " rhetoric. Stop playing the victim when your bad behavior is identified.

Her entire platform was "You have to elect me, I'm a woman!" She wasn't selling her experience and her history is actually part of what sank her. The Clinton Foundation has deep roots in the system and is another blatant example of the corruption it represents. Just the way her Super Delegates came around and bumped Bernie was enough to prove that she was as apart of the system as anyone. A big part of the reason so many people voted for Trump is because they didn't want to vote for Hillary. Not because she's a woman, but because she's a part of the system.

Trump will definitely win again if they go to bat with Hillary again. And the way the Blue Wave has already crashed because the Left can't stop eating itself, he's got a good chance anyway. You can't attack the first and second amendment and expect the majority of Americans to support you.

I think theres a good chance he will yes. There are a lot of people whose lives currently arent any worse off with Trump in office. And his base loves him. Unless theres someone opposing him that can get people excited to vote against him, hell win again. His base will support him, and a lot of people whos lives are basically the same as they were before he was elected will either vote for him or just stay home and not vote at all. Plus at this point people are getting used to him. If nothing really negative happens by the time hes up for re-election people will go with what they know and keep him in for four more years.

Democrats gained seats in 2016, won the popular vote by over 2 million and have been destroying Republicans at the state and national level ever since.

But Democrats are the smug, overconfident people who don't vote? It's fucking bizarre how far from reality most of CE's opinions are.

I think he definitely could. But it could go either way.

A cursory Google search shows voter turnout for Trump wasnt much higher than Romney, and that turnout for democrats was lower than normal. Even if nothing on Trump's end changed, I imagine that democrats will be more motivated to vote next election, which could easily push him out.

But who knows. Democrats fucked up against the most beatable candidate in recent history one time, they might do it again.

This. All of this.

I think you're going to have a chunk of the Obama-Trump voters who will essentially bounce back and forth every election since there isn't really much to save some of those industries. If little changes between now and 2020, I don't think they are going to necessarily line up for Trump again, in which case the slim margins in Pennsylvania, etc. are going to swing to the other candidate.

In most countries, the main political parties are somewhat close to the center. In the US the GOP has been moving farther and farther to the right since the 1970s. It's very hard to compromise with an extremist group like that.

Incoming wall of text!

It's too early to say if he will for me, but I think he can. Never underestimate the stupidity of the populace.

I don't think a lot of people are that in touch with what goes on. The way the information about what's gone on in Yemen (which the US has been involved in since the Obama administration through our support for Saudi Arabia), how we seem generally too ignorant of what's happening on the Gaza strip in protest of the US moving it's embassy to Jerusalem (tens of thousands of witnesses with the rest of the world wanting to intervene, and the US working to block it in the UN), how the positive economic effects of the tax breaks are skewed as pro-administration propaganda (The minimum wage was mandated to hit $15 before those tax breaks, so companies raised wages to stay competitive with other low-end competitors, and generally wage growth has been higher on the low end or even more so on the high end of wages than in the middle. This is not to mention how Harley Davidson is maybe an indicator of a company taking the tax break and going overseas being threat manufactured by this policy.), the way we are treating our allies worse than we are treating one of our biggest threats (the northern half of Korea), the threat of an avoidable trade war driving us into another (global) recession, the way those last two things kind of favor China with them filling the economic vacuum we create by pulling out of international partnerships as well as removing military assets from the Korean peninsula that are there to aid our allies South Korea and Japan, and the way this current administration and congress are also deregulating the financial institution while removing the protections of public lands such as national parks (why allow there the possibility to frack a national park that already has earthquakes, and said fracking would only make it worse?). There's also issues involving immigration, gun control, and a rollback of social reforms while people get upset about some guy's nonsense tweets about why football players won't kneel, and professional teams don't want to visit the white house. If people really thought a lot harder than they do about those issues I'm not sure they'd be so pro-Trump.
