It is not exactly frequen that topics on this issue appear on CE but it is also not unheard of and when that happens I more often than not will read the usual "just check your calories, it's as simple as burn more than you eat and you're kay" which then gets echoed and BOOM porblem solved, but no quite. Whenever I cauht that happening I would interject with a phrase I read from a book where the dude says the body is not an abacus, it's a chemistry lab and the nutrients you put in have different effects on the hormones of your body that can and will result in fat sotrage or fat burn trough oxidation, which usually gets ignored because the other sentences is infinitely more intuitive for laymen.

So I caught a video on the recomended feed and it pretty much goes to explain the same thing in very easy to digest haha get it? ideas.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1Z9ObBmRxE" data-time="

Also please do not use this to say that no wonder you can;t lose weight even if you count your calories, research this shit, it's pretty simple once you start learning a bit.

I just tell people weight loss is going to be different for everyone.

Me for instance. I am overweight and dont follow any particular diet, nor do I exercise regularly.

However, the few times I have started exercising regularly, I drop weight pretty fast to the point of losing 50 lbs in close to two months. And all without changing how or what I eat.

My problem is just keeping that as a habit. Im sure as I get closer to my ideal weight it will get more complicated to get to and atay there, but even so.

i knew a zoology professor in college that was a fat. he then got thinner due to following the CICO philosophy. He would always brag about the CICO method and how easy it was to lose and maintain weight. After i graduated from college, i checked his facebook and he is fat again. not so easy is it, tubby?

The only way that Calories In < Calories Out wouldn't work for someone is if more than 4 if their meals a week were some kind of overly processed, sawdust, plastic filled entree from a fast food joint or some type of shit tier cereal like fruity pebbles

No, it's still valid.

But it requires calories counting and exercise.

Yes, diet isn't as simple as calories in, calories out. Nobody with any real understanding of the topic of nutrition would make that claim.

but you WILL lose weight with calories in, calories out. thats not bro science thats fact. it doesnt matter what you eat.

now, will you be healthy if you eat nothing but candy and McDonalds during CICO? no, but thats not the question people are asking in relation to CICO.

It's also not as complicated as obese or weak people make it out to be. Find me 10 people you know that are either weak or obese and make a real effort at exercise and eating real food that don't see results.

Quick answer, you won't.

Calories In < Calories out is a fine philosophy by itself. As long as you're not consuming sugary cereals, fast food, or frozen food like a garbage can and eat food that you actually cook you see results.

You could lose weight eating fucking homemade pizza.

I once lost 20 pounds eating fast food, junk food, and diet sodas. All I did was count calories so I dunno. I can't argue with results tbh.

"CICO works really well if you also make other good decisions about diet."

So in other words it's not just CICO. Nobody should be telling people to just do CICO as a diet.

Yes, there are people who don't try as hard as they should. Yes, there are people who make excuses. Yes, the number of people with serious medical conditions that effect weight gain/loss is far fewer than the number of people who could lose weight if they put in more effort and made smarter decisions.

But none of that changes the fact that it is not as simple as CICO.

For probably 70% of people in the world, it really is.
