Were paid to deliver to the building. We wont get in trouble for leaving it in the first floor as long as its in the building lol. Im just trying to make sure the customer KNOWS the package is here as a courtesy but they dont make it easy. I could out right refuse to carry your package and my managers couldnt do a damn thing.

Yes but they seem to always have "just recovered from back surgery" or theyre women. Seriously, i enjoy the job but its just these moments that kind of suck.

People think were pack mules but our job is to take the package to the building theyre addressed to and if the package is too heavy to lift, were not supposed to try and lift it because we'll get in trouble for not being safe lol

This. Package handling becomes a million times easier once you push your tired ass to go to the gym after work. It's unreal how frequently drivers put themselves out of commission cause they lifted a 40 pound box over or near their heads and it fucked them up for months afterward.

It's kind of unreasonable to ask people to not order anything heavy because they don't live on the first floor and the building has no elevator. Think about them, whenever they have groceries and have to bring it up those stairs, or anything heavy at all, i'm sure they go through it 20x more than you have to. I'm sure every now and then having something delivered and not having to carry shit up 3 flights of stairs is a nice break.

And I remember I bought a 65 inch TV once and I got scared once I saw it was only one person bringing it up by himself to the 3rd floor. usually that type of delivery is a 2 person job.

but fortunately for the guy, it was a really light TV for the size

though @Stallion_Prime did your job really sent you on a solo man mission to bring a 150 pound package to the 3rd floor? that's awfully dirty of them

I know this isn't the case for most people but for groceries I would break them down into smaller portions, like if we have 150 pounds of grocery then I'll break it down into 3 packs of 50 pounds so I can make multiple easier trips.

I assume the package TC has cannot be broken down to make it easier for himself. 150 pounds is pretty excessive tbh

They dont. I used to be a package handler. Its 5 straight hours of moving heavy boxes and throwing out your back. Id move more boxes in a week than that person did their entire life. Like 2000 a day.

id rather do that than the shit we have to do. Go up to any ground delivery driver and theyre dirty and sweaty as hell from all the shit they do. Constantly in a rush most likely not paid by the hour. Were losing money the longer we are out there
