I think I pissed her off a little bit because I kept chuckling and laughing throughout the whole movie. It plays a lot like an Evil Dead 2 that takes itself more seriously, which somehow makes it even more ridiculous, and I kept expecting a goofy CGI monster to pop out and shout threats with a silly voice. I guess that sorta did happen

I thought it was a pretty good horror film. I definitely appreciated the subtlety. They didnt rely on jumpscares and had a nice slow burn of creepiness. But the story itself was cliche and hokey, and the actual scares were silly and made me giggle. Probably doesnt help that I dont believe in ghosts, spirits, or demons at all, and kept imagining a scenario where the demon possessing the land was just some punk trying to prank a family for Hells version of youtube --- ... It wasn't really creepy at all. I didn't think it was a good movie.
However it is really annoying when you try to show someone a movie and they keep laughing at inappropriate parts or just don't pay attention to it. I'd probably just turn it off. ... Copied to Clipboard!
