I tried searching their name on FB, and messaged someone with the same name who lives nearby about it.

But is there anyway to get a phone number from the card that I could just use to contact them directly?

Take it to the bank and let them handle it.

Buy something with it

don't actually buy something with it. They will get it back but... you know...

This. I just lost mine for a week and my biggest fear was it would fall into the wrong hands. It's not that hard to get a new one. Nit as hard as getting stolen money back. I've been through it all

Either take it to their Bank, call the bank, of just cut it up and throw it away. Having lost the card they'll likely want a new number anyways just for security if the bank themselves doesn't make them get another one because of it.

Wel, I called the customer service number on the back of the card and asked them if they could contact her directly so she could come back and get it. But instead, they just said they were going to disable the card.

They just asked me to throw it in the trash. Was hoping to return it to her without her needing to get a new one. >_>

too bad theres no way to search for the bank's information

like some kind of engine. a search... engine..

you could like, type in the name of the bank, and your location and see what comes up. then like, click a button that says maps or directions and see where they are

LOL THATS JUST DUMB THO

Especially since he's already admitted to checking Facebook.

I think TC just wants the phone number to commit fraud.

For future reference, depending on where you found it, maybe take it to their customer service window or cashier. I mean, if it was the middle of the street, nothing you can do (though I don't know why a debit card would be out in those circumstances) but if someone lost a card, they probably forgot or dropped it near where they last used it and will backtrack to find it.

Or because I didnt want to have her go through the trouble of needing a new card. It would be much simpler if shes still in the area and could just swing back by to get it.

Think whatever though.

Not worth the risk to mail the card or liabilities for injury if they pick it up in person. You did the right thing.
