I dont get fatigued by that at all. Its really fun for me to do. I actually dont like human relationships more than just work, so I just want to focus on work and creating things, if I dont have to deal with human relationships. Its actually a little bit easier for me to do than not working.

I do need fans to play my games, to be able to create it, and so fans are definitely a factor to motivate me to keep on going.

So what the hell has Nomura been doing for the past three years, sit around drinking tea with both thumbs planted firmly up his ass?

Aw, poor Squeenix can't double dip with the Japanese audience this time with a Final Mix+Ultra version.

Guess that means the be releasing an ultimate version in 2020 for both regions.

I don't even think the initial release will be in 2020.

That would be impressive. Unless someone is feeding him the tea or he drank it from a straw.

he says he does it for the fans, but he's changing the game the fans love

he says he has to deal with other people. i wonder if those other people keep bringing up that he's changing the game everyone loves.

dude just sounds full of himself more than anything. for the fans. what a riot.

Japanese work culture is crazy. Which is impressive because for how much they work, Square Enix sure as hell makes it seem like they aren't doing shit.

So I recently played the Secret of Mana remake.

It's nigh one-to-one mechanically, and it puts into stark clarity how borked mechanics in old games could be.

There's a fair amount of bork in FF7.

If they don't remove the bork, people will complain about it. If they do, people will also complain about it. This whole remake is a lose-lose situation sadly.

They spend a lot of time at work. The output per time spent at work is questionable.

The graphics could use an update, and the script would definitely benefit from a better translation(informed by the original, of course).
Mechanically speaking, IIRC Magic Defense straight-up doesn't work(it does nothing), so they really ought to make it work or remove it(the game got along fine without it, after all). Everything could benefit from more clarity, which could be fixed with useful tool-tips. They could definitely stand to put in references to how to recruit Yuffie and Vincent(and make the former less awful). Just, like, have a NPC mention something about seeing some weird girl around, or rumors that there's something in the basement of Shinra mansion.
They could also completely revamp the entire business with chocobo breeding and racing.
Aside from that, add more sidequests(and make some of the existing ones more obvious).
That would all be fairly non-controversial, I think.
