I think so. most of the stuff people hate about 2 is only in 2. 2 was made by the "B team". after Dark Souls 1 was finished, they started work on Bloodborne but the company wanted another Dark Souls also rushed out. so they got a B Team to make it while the A Team made Bloodborne. then the A team also made 3. so basically 2 is weird and not liked cause it's made by a different team than the entire rest of the franchise.
