The vocals are these "shrieks" that are meant to sound like people possessed by demons or something but to me they sound like goblins. Black metal is all about Satanic/occult imagery. I'll agree with Panthera's recs but I'll also add onto that, if you find them a bit too jarring, you might find it easier to start with melodic death/black metal which tempers the...deathiness (or blackiness) with some more accessible melodies.
