How long can I get away with this without anything bad happening? 6 months? a year?

google says average eviction takes 75 days in Toronto. They will probably start the eviction somewhere between 5 and 30 days after missing payment (this is what i say, it depends on the landlord).

In my province, you can basically lice rent free for 6 mos. Its very Tenent friendly
