Colorado Christian Kook is all smug today after the Supreme Court sided with him in a shocking 7-2 vote that now allows him to REFUSE SERVICE to GAY PEOPLE!!

He was in court after he refused to bake a cake to a gay couple as he was seen rejoicing with hundreds of conservatives who took SELFIES with him as they now call him a CONSERVATIVE HERO!!

The ruling was limited however as it didn't deal with the biggest concern, whether religious people like Jack Phillips could refuse to serve gay or lesbian people.

The Supreme Court described this as an anti-religious bias on the Colorado Civil Rights Commission when it ruled against him

He refused ot make a cake for Charlie Craig and David Mullins in 2012 and the gay couple filed a complaint with the commission. That commission ru led in their favour stating he had violatd the anti-discrimination law that bars businesses from discrimination against customers based on their race, religion, gender and sexual orientation

Justice Anthony Kennedy who was supposed to be the swing vote voted with the majority anyway stating Phillips deserve to exercise his rights and they were violated because of his religious beliefs but liberals Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan also voted with the majority when Elena is a LESBIAN HERSELF!!.

While the court has set aside the question of whether businesses can refuse service to gay couples because of their religious beliefs are other cases in the pipeline that will force the court to give their opinion eventualy.

Appeals in similar cases are pending including one from a florist refusing to sell flowers to a lesbian couple

The decision was a victory for conservative Christians as Kristen Waggoner said "Government hostility toward people of faith has no place in our society, yet the state of Colorado was openly antagonist toward Jack's religious beliefs about marriage"

ACLU Laywer Louse Melling said this was a huge stepback towards equal rights as Louise Melling said that this ruling reaffirmed its longstanding rule that states can prevent the harms of discrimination in the marketplace.

Gay rights advocaates said this is one part of a bigger struggle seeking greater legal protections for LGBT people as they fight efforts by conservatives to undermine gains secured in years.

Nontheless, Conservatives came out and took selfies with Jack and said he is a HERO to them for fighting liberals as they hope this leads to more pushback against their right to refuse service based on their beliefs.

Would you support a business that refused service to certain groups of people (assuming you are NOT one of those people)?

Jack - Christian Kook

Except that's not what was decided at all. Colorado's Civil Rights Commission failed to use due process when fining the baker which resulted in the SCOTUS decision ruling on the baker's behalf. Of course since you are a Canadian, you don't know the first damn thing about American politics and should perhaps shut the fuck up about politics from now on.

It is so stupid for people to say that blanket discrimination should be legal. Sure, sounds nice on paper (yay freedom, etc), but imagine what kind of a shitty existence it would be to never know if a business is going to randomly refuse to serve you for some stupid reason.

Go out to dinner? Restaurant doesn't like the color of your skin and wont let you in.

Pregnant and go to the emergency room? Doctor refuses to deliver a kid had out of wedlock.

Imagine what kind of a shithole country that would be. I don't know about you, but that is not a society I want to live in. It is like going back in time to the 1800s.

Also important to note that there is a huge difference between political affiliation and race/sexuality.
