He didn't believe in them anymore, so why did he stick around?

He was still confused on what to do by the time he rashly helped kill Mace which basically forced him to go full Sith.

There were plenty of Jedi in regular canon and EU who left the order though.

Well, think of Anakin like a current "Star Wars fan".

Imagine he got involved with Star Wars, or the Jedi Order, and really identified with it as a youngling.

Then he got older, and some "decisions by the Jedi Order" came out that didn't meet his expectations. Maybe didn't quite hit his idealized and very specific view of how the Jedi Order was supposed to be.

Sure, he could just leave the Order behind and move on with his life, perhaps find something new to dedicate himself to.

But that's not satisfying enough for him. He's become too invested at this point and feels like just walking away would be a waste of the time he invested into it up to this point. He'd rather pine for the entire thing burning to the ground. He cares so much that he'd rather destroy it than ignore it.

So essentially, Anakin murdered younglings because he hated TLJ.

I was just joking, but thinking about it, it would be in the best interest of Mace and Yoda to track down Anakin of all people because of the stuff they feared and saw in him.

Then again, the Jedi were incompetent as fuck.

None of them were considered "The Chosen One Who Would Bring Balance to the Force" though.

Because Anakin had nowhere else to go.

He might have had the skills of a great pilot and warrior, but without the proper experience and references to back it up the best work he would have been able to get was bussing tables at Dexter Jettsters Retro 50's Space Diner

Many of the Sith began with a sort of "baptism in blood", as the beginning of their apprenticeship, and became a Sith Lord by killing their master. Palpatine killed his entire family and became Darth Plagueis' apprentice. He killed Plagueis to become the Sith Lord. This happens over and over in the history of the Sith.

He had no choice. Palpatine would have killed him if he refused, and the Jedi would have killed him if he deserted. Anakin's potential was to great. "Too dangerous to be left alive".

He was still a general for the republic, a renowned diplomat, and the lover of the queen of Naboo. If he were to have left the Order he still pretty much had one of the most impressive resumes in the galaxy.

He was probably going to but Palpatine tempting him with his wife's death caused him to side with Palpatine's plan to overthrow them. If he had never gotten inside his head then Anakin would probably have just tired of the politics and bias and moved on.

I'm speaking about before all that.

If he was to leave the Order, it was going to be at the end of Attack of the Clones. He was in too deep with the war and such to leave by Revenge of the Sith.
