I have Moon already and it's a good game, but I also remember loving X when I played it. But I don't have it anymore, so I'll have to buy a new copy.

Would going from Moon to X be that jarring?

I think they're both generally good and have positive aspects over the other. X and Y have the best selection for Pokemon out of any Pokemon game, but Sun and Moon are generally agreed on to have a better plot, characters, and difficulty.

Even with EXP share, I found Moon hard.
I never played X without EXP share and it was so easy, but I remember enjoying the journey and landscape more.

X has a better overworld

Moon has better boss fights

not a fan of sun or moon

maybe im just too good at JRPGs, but I found moon too easy even without exp share. brain numbingly easy in fact.
i thought Persona 5 on the second hardest mode was a good challenge

Play on Set mode instead of Switch. Then you'll actually have to make decisions with which Pokemon you send out.

Sun/Moon's quality of life changes - especially viewing IVs plainly in the menus - make it a much better game for postgame stuff

every Pokemon game is super easy if you know what you're doing, I started playing Set a few years ago because I was tired of people claiming it makes the games harder, it doesn't, if anything it makes the games easier because you end up funneling a lot of EXP into certain Pokemon whether you want to or not

Gen 7 is the only time Game Freak has put thought into boss fights though

In the Options, you can change the mode from Switch to Set, so that it doesn't ask you to change Pokemon when a Trainer is about to send out their next Pokemon. It makes you have to strategize a bit more.

I don't really care for the lack of a gym structure or zmoves, but Alola is so much better of a region than Kalos imo
