There's two dumb rules that are leading games to get banned here.
- Taking drugs can't have a positive effect for the player (I would have thought Joy being fictional would have gotten around this though)
- There can't be any depiction of sexual assault or rape

All of the dumb bans since the R18 rating are from these two rules. They have no sense of context at all. This is why we get stupid shit like anal probes in South Park being censored.

Unfortunately this is exactly the kind of thing that gets banned now. Same thing happened to Saints Row 4 and Fallout 3.

They're really anal about drugs in video games no matter what the context is. If drugs give any sort of gameplay benefit it gets banned.

Wow. I knew about gore, excessive violence, and sexual assault being censored but drugs is new to me. I looked it up a bit more and the offending material was quoted as
"depict, express or otherwise deal with matters of sex, drug misuse or addiction, crime, cruelty, violence or revolting or abhorrent phenomena".


That sounds more puritanical than mormons. Not to mention extremely broad. Sounds like evil choices like killing little sisters in Bioshock could potentially be seen as this under this classification.
