Shitty people all around. The parents for actually taking their son to court, and the son for being such a loser that his parents felt the need to take him to court.

I see nothing wrong with the parents actions. It's time to leave the best. Better parenting would have prevented their child from turning out that way in the first place though.

Of course better parenting would have prevented this. They were awful parents and now they should face the consequences of that on their own without clogging up the legal system with a problem that they have the ability to address on their own.

That's the problem with their actions. They're asking the government to fix a problem they created and have every ability to solve currently on their own.

2) Sell the other things you have that have any significant value, (e.g. stereo, some tools etc.). This is especially true for any weapons you may have. You need the money and will have no place for the stuff.

It has nothing to do with good or bad parenting at this point. The parents want him out, he doesn't want to go because he wants to keep leeching. They offered him money to leave, gave him a bunch of notices and his whole argument was that he didn't get proper notice. The article makes that argument sound like b.s.

It took them several months. So you apparently have several months to prepare yourself and continue to leech off your parents from the time they tell you to get out

I mean it's pretty hypocritical of the parents to allow him a free ride for 30 years not expecting him to do or contribute anything and then decide to throw him out for being the deadbeat they allowed him to be, initially trying to do it with no notice, and then 14 days notice. You don't accidentally raise a who freeloads on you. And as pathetic as it is that he never took any initiative, you can't exactly say the parents did nothing wrong either. Literally their one job was to prepare him for the basics of life and they let it go on for 30 years without doing that.

If this was the Midwest, I'd side more with the parents, but this is Upstate NY, which is still comparatively expensive compared to many places in the country.

$1100 isn't going to do shit for him. It's clear the dude has issues and with the way the parents are acting, it's probably caused on by them. It seems like they don't even talk to him. Stuff like giving up and living at home forever is not normal if you're not working either.

At least down here in Downstate NY, shit is so expensive that people are still living at home into their late 30s and it's relatively normal because they at least have jobs. My parent's neighbors out in LI are in their 40s. It's two brothers and they both have wives and 5 kids together, and still live at home. These are not poor people. They own 7 M5+ level cars.

The sad part is he'd likely get more help commiting a crime and going to prison. It's a roof, 3 meals a day, and many have educational, vocational, etc. training, and when you get our will temporarily put you up in a halfway house to help you have some time to adapt.

There's extremely limited resources for that same treatment, they usually can't help many people, and it varies wildly what's available to you based on where you live.

That's fucked up yo. It's both parties at fault. This is what happens when you dont have basic social skills and don't need a job when your parents give you a gamer's life style. Freeloading. Now they want you out cause they getting old and fed up with your shit.

For someone with no skills to live on their own and has never had responsibilities, he's more than likely going to blow it and not know what the fuck he's doing.

What "ability to address on their own" do they have? You do know what tenant's rights, are, correct? In liberal states, like New York, even SQUATTERS can only be removed by a judge's order, and can take MONTHS.
