I think Whisper of the Heart is worth it.

I'd skip Pom Poko (it finally gets decent at around the 2/3 or 3/4 mark) and The Cat Returns.

Whisper of the Heart and Only Yesterday are literally THE BEST Ghibli movies, so yes. I'd also highly recommend My Neighbors The Yamadas and The Tale of Princess Kaguya

What is a "non-Miyazaki" film? My friend and I were discussing this the other day. On a lot of films, he's either a writer, producer or director.

Whisper of the Heart is great like others said.

My Neighbors The Yamamdas as okay, nothing and about it but just not really my type of movie.

The Tale of Princess Kaguya definitely worth getting.
