I guess this evolution only make sense for highly colony-martriach based society like ants.

Most other animals in the end favor individual survival to pass genes, but when only onem individual capable of reproducing, the one, majority of life become disposable to protect the queen

Still this will be one heck of a study to learn how this trait even evolve.

The ant doesnt literally explode in a Michael Bay sort of way, but the desperate measure causes a sticky and toxic liquid to pour out from its bloated glandsa noxious substance thats capable of killing the intruder. Its a final fatal act for our exploding protagonist, but the ant is truly going out in a blaze of glory; by deploying this form of chemical warfare, the ant does its part to protect the colony.

but when human did that, it's terrorism. >_>

That's not quite how ants work. There's a class of breeder ants, males and females that will grow wings and fly away to reproduce. The females will eventually become Queens and start the colony.

Males and females that are not breeders work for the colony.

Giant versions of these sound like cool enemies in an rpg.

No. Those sort of enemies are always incredibly annoying.

I mean in a jrpg where positioning isn't a thing I could see the argument, but in a tactical rpg where you can push these things around before you kill them, maybe setting up chain attacks where multiple of these explode at once on another enemy it could be fun.

Disgaea fan, huh?

That actually is how ants work. Male allates are only bred when it's time to breed. Any other time, if the thousands of ants that a queen will bare, all will be female because there's no other reason for there to be any males.
