Basic background of the girl is that she is quite popular, so she has lots of pursuers. She is turning 24, so pretty young. She also likes to play basketball. We live close, so I often drive her to the gym and we would play ball together.

Last night, I dropped her off at her house after our gym session as usual, but we talked for about 5 minutes in the car. The topic was about her other guy friend who failed to get a girl that he liked. She suddenly revealed that if she ever finds out a guy likes her, but she does not feel the same way about him, she would purposefully avoid seeing or even messaging him so he gets the idea.

Now here is my question. How should I interpret that information? I thought it was pretty clear I am interested in her (otherwise why the hell would I offer to drive her to play basketball with me almost all the time). We also went out for lunch and dinner before, sometimes with friends and sometimes alone.

Should I assume she knows I like her (something I thought all women are good at detecting) and was dropping hints that I have a chance? Cause otherwise she would have purposefully avoided me if she did not like me and would not have consented to going out with me so often, whether for basketball or food.

Or is she totally oblivious to my feelings and simply mentioned that because it was related to the topic we were discussing. In other words, it never occurred to her that I have feelings for her because she assumed we were platonic friends.

I want to believe in the former, but knowing my luck, it is most likely the latter.

You should stop being such a soy boy and stop over analyzing every little thing the girls says. Whats her overal demeanor and attitude towards you? Thats a better indicator of her feelings than just some one off line she told you. Either way, if you like her, you shoups make a move

That is the thing. In a vacuum, she is really nice to me and would go out of her way to do things with me and for me, like making me food.

But then I found out she is like that with everyone because she is just a nice person in general.

So I can't base anything off of her actions to me because I don't think she has treated me differently compared to how she treats other friends. Only reason we go play basketball so often together is most likely because she literally lives 2 minutes car drive away from me.

I don't think those are positive signs towards banging her TC.

Some probable tells if girls are into you;

- touchy
- initiates contact
- asking to hangout

Emphasis on probable. At the end of the day, you'll still need to ask them.

Then it becomes a matter of what do you really want, and what are you willing to risk if you want to try to take it farther.

My red flag(opinion alert) = she is popular with guys this usually means she will fuck you over in a heartbeat if something better comes along because dudes are flinging themselves/money/dick at her all day everyday.

Imagine yourself in those shoes. You are popular and you can pick and choose several women at any point in time. Now ask yourself, would you settle for less or acquire the best you can even if you have to squash a few feelings or terminate a few friendships?
