Okay, yeah, I was talking shit :P

It's fun.

You have me wondering how well-respected they are now though. I definitely think people acknowledge it's above like a Fat Tire. But I'm not sure if they think of it as just random fancy froo froo beer or they acknowledge its complex and full flavor bouquet.

honestly

your average craft beer drinker probably sees it as just as another expensive quad

but for me, personally, its only rivaled by trappistes rochefort 10 (in the category of quads)

most people dont appreciate the malt bill of it or the fact they use wine yeast during the secondary fermentation

its a beer that is insanely complex in its creation, far beyond just water, malt, hops, and sugar

Trappists is some of the best beers ever. That or most anything German or Irish.

Most craft stuff is either meh or I didn't like it. I know someone whose all into and any suggestion I've taken him up on is meh and best but still not worth the money.

I'd rather spend money if I'm going to on a brand/type I know and trust if I'm going to pay a high price. Chimay is my personal favorite Trappist.

My most recent try was Vanessa House Power's Out. I drank one and a half with cans still left in the fridge.

The best I had was Founder's Breakfast Stout. It was good but it was still overpriced. Samuel Smith's Oatmeal
Stout is far better.

Recently tried this and it wasn't to bad for an imperial stout.

its fantastic for the price point

head retention is lacking but its full of esters, candied sugar, and light banana flavors

its a perfect spring/summer day drinker with a pleasantly crisp aftertaste and light body that you can enjoy multiple all day and still be safe

Sounds good. I'll check it out tomorrow after work and see they do indeed have it.
