I have been to Oahu Big Island Kuai I prefer the BIg Island but none of my family does. my brother is obsessed with Kuai and goes there like once a year. Have you climbed Mauna Kea? well not climbed it but we drove to the top and looked at it. saw the mouth of the volanco. visited a lodge on the peak that was full of old photos and a restaurant and gift shop. they had a photo of a shrine to Pele that was spared lava in an eruption. the lava flowed around the shrine to not touch it and scientists were unable to debunk or explain it <cite>Zikten posted [p:898233361] in I may go t... I went to Maui last fall. Spent around $2000 all in for a week. I'm going in September with my wife, and for a week in a 4 1/2 star resort in Kauai + plane tickets + car + some other random little perks it's coming in at just under $3,000. If you don't mind staying at a normal hotel, things can get even more affordable.
