Fast food and thank God I work in the back away from the customers. Our store has had some of the worst people walk in. Trying to start fist fights with a shift leader over a cup of water and walking out outraged because of how a cashier placed a drink on the counter. I've been offered a couple times to move up to a cashier position (which is required before you get promoted any higher) but I always refuse because, if a customer came at me like that, what I would do next would get me fired immediately.

Neither. I've been lucky enough to work for the government in some fashion. Worse case scenario though, if I couldn't get a job at all... I would like to try stores like Target over fast food restaurants.
