Why didn't Sauron find the Ring the entire time Gollum had it? 3. How many Dunedain are there between Fellowship and RotK and what the hell are they doing? Who are Aragon's kin? In the books its 17 years from when Bilbo leaves the Shire and when Frodo leaves. But if you mean the rangers of the north remnants of the Kingdom of Arnor and Aragorns people, we don't know how many there is but they probably don't number more than a few hundred low thousands population wise, for what they where doing they where a scattered people who protect places like the shire and when called upon could only muster 30 men to ride to Aragorns aid and met him at helms deep, the elves took their place in the movies. <cite>Newhopes posted [p:898036169] in Lord of th... And even she gets more time spent on her in the movies. As for Anduril, not sure. Aragorn wanted to be king and knew he had to earn it. Also all that unneeded Arwen crap just takes away from Eowyn anyway. Well already have her as the badass female and Galadriel also to a lesser extent. She didn't really do much other than have prophetic visions and telepathic communications with Aragorn. And flashbacks.
