That's a fair point but you have to consider when immigration was open in the past it's because the US had abundant space and work opportunities. With rapid automization and rising housing cost because of inc demand, there isn't really a place for "everyone" it sucks for those people sure, but that's just the way it has to be. Immigration clearly isn't perfect now but just letting everyone come here who wants to is a really terrible idea.
