......assetive etc.? Imo most of almost all cops that i've seen at least are very assertive, aggressive etc., my opinion. Do you think they could still get their job done really well usually if they were really "nice", if you will, or maybe people would walk all over them usually? To put it another way.

Cops arent counselors. They need to be in control of situations. When they engage people, those people are usually quite perturbed. Cops do need to be somewhat aggressive to be effective.

So if I'm getting stopped for a traffic ticket, a cop needs to be aggressive in that situation? You fucking serious?

I think cops in first world countries outside of the US seem to manage it pretty well. The US has had a strange mix of militarization where cops view everything in a very adversarial, us vs them way. At the same time, the rules of engagement are far more lax for police than for actual military personnel. So that leads to extremely aggressive cops that are not well versed in conflict management and deescalation or building relationships with the communities they police. This isn't universal but it's more true here than elsewhere.
