The whole game was great, but I feel like they went above and beyond with not only voices, but character design (or I guess development from the second and first games). The animation for facial expressions was detailed and very noticeable.

So hard deciding on a favorite character. Geralt was Solid Snake level badass, but the black magic Yennefer used was really something else. Then theres Avallach. Every scene with this guy was priceless.

I stepped away during the credits, but I forgot to see what became of him. I wonder if he became the king?

yea, I really liked the characters in the main game, and the one in the dlcs are great, too.

Blood and Wine is the better overall expansion, IMO, but I preferred the the people you come across in Hearts of Stone.

Well, it was my second play through, so I messed up pretty bad. Im not sure, as far as the endings go... Geralt faked Ciris death to shut up the Emperor and he taught her all he knew of being a Witcher. Then they went their own ways. I feel like thats a pretty good outcome. I still wish it had featured Avallach

I flat out missed the romance opportunity and I SWEAR there was a quest where Dykstra and Roache were going to get you to murder Radovid...

Eh, I made a mess of this replay, but its no big deal. I skipped a bunch of crap like ?s that I knew werent worth it. First time, I got almost every location and all that stuff.

They should make a large dlc about Ciris story. Id buy that.

Thats the best part about Avallac'h: he always had ulterior motives and would openly say so. He would also evade questions masterfully. Still, his agenda didnt specifically seem to involve harming any of the good people. He did help Ciri...

It said that he had shown unnerving interest in Ciri and the Elder Blood in previous games, and that he made no particular effort to tell Gerald the full truth.

Lambert was awesome. I helped him murder that asshole who killed his friend.

Falling damage was ridiculous, though. Before the update, youd lose health for taking the stairs too fast.

I wish they had put out a new wave of quests between defending Kaer Morhen and the end. Not necessarily the same amount of quested as you began with, but I dont think it would have killed them to program in some more Witcher Hunts and make an extra armor upgrade to keep the fun going.

And also, if you really liked the character writing in 3 then you should definitely play Witcher 2. IMO the characters were much better written in that game

-Find ruin, cave etc. and kill everything x1000

The quests usually aren't generic like that. In fact even most of the optional side quests seem to have a bit more meat to them. Still, as a huge open world game you are going to find some repetitiveness.

Ive owned this since launch, but havent played because i burned myself out on witcher 2 right before launch. Did the same thing with ithcer 2, i bear wither 1 right before it came out and didnt play 2 until 3 came out even though i owned 2 since launch

I managed to finish 1 (twice), 2 (twice) & 3 in a row.

Wasn't sure how I managed to do it without burning out, must be the writing.

I missed this part because I didnt do all of the dialogue the second time around, but Im kind of confused about one aspect of Ciri. She was NOT a Witcher until the end, right? She didnt have the Witcher sense and only had one sword. She couldnt drink potions, etc.

What was her face scar from? Didnt that have something to do with the Witcher training?

Ciri wasn't a full-fledged witcher until one of the endings, yes. And even then, I don't remember if she had just set out on the path or had already underwent the Trials. As for her scar, she gets it (novel spoiler) from Stefan Skellan's throwing star. You may remember this guy from his gwent card which mentions how proud he is of tarnishing her face.

I actually skipped out on gwent. The last card game I really got into was ff8, but maybe Ill give it a shot next playthrough.

I got past the battle of Kaer Morhen part, played for a few more hours and the game started to drag on again. I figured it wasn't getting any better than the battle of Kaer Morhen anyway. Am I missing anything by not finishing the final few hours?

Yeah

Agreed. Its totally worth finishing. I will admit that towards the end, when I was ready to finish, they sent me on some boring errands, but the dialogue is badass.
