In Sims 4 jobs are the worst way to make money. It sucks, but the only way to make decent money is paint or write songs and license them out.

Work? You're playing it wrong, dude.

Try this: you flirt with the wealthiest, single person you can find > make them your significant other > marry them > move into their house and kick their family out... now you're rich and don't need a job.

Of course, you could always turn some rich Sim into a cuck and take his wife (assuming gender here) and then repeat the above steps, but it's all in how you feel.

But dude, don't send your Sims to work... argh! :)

Well SP mode in the Sims 4 revolves around aspirations and you need to get a job for most of them

Yeah, I have an athletic Sim as my "main" and I got all his aspirations without being more than a locker room boy. (Or whatever that job was called.)

I'm sure many of the aspirations are like that. Hell, the woman I married just wanted to go on dates; talk about low maintenance. :)

Do the newer games still have money cheats? I think Sims 2 is the last one I played.

I usually just cheated my way into a ton of money, built a sweet house and then banged all the women in town.

I even made one house with 6 different living areas and had the guy with six concubines.

Yes, there are cheats, but they make the game way too "easy" if that can be a thing in a Sims game. Plus, they disable achievements/trophies. (I kind of care about achievements, even though they are pointless, so I don't use the cheats.)

You can use the points you get for completing aspirations to buy things that make it so your Sim doesn't need to pee/shower as much, etc... It makes the game a lot more tolerable.

I had a sim in the criminal career in sims 3 but the cops kept getting her once she left work and putting her in jail :(

also it's fun to have a sim with the klepto trait in there, they nick such random stuff lol, I got a light from the Gym once!

I'm not sure about in Sims 4, but in 2 and 3 you can use cheats to keep their needs raised so you can focus on doing other stuff

Sims 4 is so bland. I went back to 3, and don't regret it. Sure, the open world slows the game down to a crawl on loading screens, but it's still fun to play. The legacy challenge (with restrictions against painting and writing for obvious reasons) is great.

That's pretty much the general gameplay of Sims. It strikes a chord with some, and doesn't for others.

Though, I must say that The Sims 2 and 3 are much better games in comparison to 4.

After sinking more time into the Sims 4, I have to say I'm disappointed. I hate how being a painter or writer are the only ways to make real money.

My Sim wasted his entire life working to be a secret government agent when he could have just been an amateur writer and made ten times the money.
