I feel guilty about eating pigs since they match the smartest dogs for intelligence. But bacon smells good and sausage is delicious.

Not like cows are dumb either. They're remember their family, they make friends, they make enemies, develop hierarchies, have very good memories, have shown problem solving skills and situational awareness, etc.

Not speaking to anyone specifically, but I really don't see why people develop weird mental gymnastics to try to justify eating meat or certain types of meat or not eating others. Once you're crossing into a certain territory, like above microorganisms and such talking about land animals and everything there's a good level of intelligence there no matter what it is, maybe not compared to humans but just in general it's not just some mindless shell of a being.
Yet you're fine with eating X because other people have said it's okay and it tastes good but you're not fine with eating X because society hasn't agreed that it's okay or it doesn't taste good to you.
