I've been doing barbell and bodyweight stuff for years now. While I'm definitely stronger, I feel like I'm still weak in day to day stuff. Like if I need to help people move furniture or something.
Like yeah I can deadlift 225, but tell me to carry around a weird shape table or something at 150 pounds, and I'm going to have a lot of trouble. --- If you're going through hell, keep going. -Winston Churchill ... Copied to Clipboard!

Why would you be carrying a weird shaped table weighing 150 lbs alone? Even really strong dudes would probably struggle with that.
Also, I guess I should ask you about your workout routine. Deadlifting is just one thing and 225 isnt a lot to deadlift. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Weights are compact and allow for a perfect grip. Everyday objects arent and dont. A lot of the time the problems come from the awkwardness of carrying things. A 40kg sack of flour is no problem. A 40kg large table can be problematic because you cant get a proper grip on it. --- I love beautiful White, Asian, Arab, and Hispanic women. ... Copied to Clipboard!

It's just a feeling my weight training program isn't translating well. Another example. One of my old coaches used to have us drag stuff. I remember struggling like crazy to move 180 pounds or so. Like I was using my whole body. Legs, arms, back, but it was hard af to get it to move. --- If you're going through hell, keep going. -Winston Churchill ... Copied to Clipboard!

A tip I got from Phil Heath was to do incline cardio over regular cardio, just set a treadmill to max incline and walk slowly

Strongman is what you're looking for. Lifting stones, logs, tire flips, etc. As far as weightlifting is concerned, strongman exercises are the most, "functional" exercises. That being said, as others have pointed out, 225 deadlift honestly isn't that strong. As I was able to deadlift 300, 400, 500 etc. Lifting couches and shit got easier. Just gotta stick with it
