No. I've never worked out in an actual gym, I just did a lot of athletics and combat sports. I tore my MCL in October and haven't been able to work out at all. Hoping to get back to Muay Thai in about a month if my knee will allow it.

I picked up this guy:

https://www.amazon.ca/FitDesk-Exercise-Massage-White-Universal/dp/B00CM9CBZY/ref=lp_12616619011_1_1?srs=12616619011&ie=UTF8&qid=1519041724&sr=8-1

No gyms close to me, so this plus a weight set is what I use regularly. A quick job of adding a mouse tray / drink holder, and I can just use this guy for hours while I watch TV/Movies on my laptop.

I have a signature. Apparently this is important, but I still don't have my secret cool kid decoder ring yet.

i've heard that cardio is much better for you than lifting weights. Like for example schwarzenegger and now that he's old the muscle turns to fat and he looks terrible, stuff like that.

It's a martial art. National sport of the country I live in. I've trained for a few years in Thailand and fought professionally twice.

I have a free pass on a military installation for a 24/7 gym on there. So I go pretty frequently. 3 to 4 days a week for 2 hours.

Hes not exactly a shining example since he was a steroid user which had s big impact on that. Weightlifting with light cardio is the way to go. Muscle doesnt just mysteriously turn to fat when your hit 60. You have to let it get that way.

My wife and I made one of our spare rooms into a home gym with a bench, a squat rack, an exercise bike and free weights. I stuck an old PC on the corner that is still decent enough to run Netflix/YouTube etc so we can just stick something on to watch/listen to.

Um, there's ways of getting on base and working on base and not being military.

I'd believe it. The difference I saw after one of my contracts that involved a SHITLOAD of walking and climbing, as well as this bike, was staggering.

Other: My whole family has a common, permanent membership. It comes with the house.

A membership that only my brother really makes use of. He makes up for it by being one of the most enthusiastic members of the whole gym.

Yeah I pumped up considerably over the last few years due to a change in priorities and better self esteem. I went from 6'2" at 128lbs to my highest at 225lbs, low body fat.

Initially I started weightlifting to please an ex who was a gym rat himself; he's the one who got me acquainted with the gym world. He wanted a partner that was intimately submissive to him, but bulkier enough for his rough sex fetish. As a young gay guy I didn't see an issue with that since it meant more sex with a good looking "alpha male" who I got envied for and a fitter bod. However, I eventually bulked up and increased my strength enough that I became too physically independent for him to still find attractive. Ironically he didn't see the improvements in my physique as a good thing in the long run. He actually had some deeply routed insecurity that required a meeker partner he could feel masculine superiority around Great looking guy; extremely damaged emotionally. Once I got buff, he wasn't getting as much satisfaction as he hoped for.

Anyway, he actually dumped me over my changes and I ended up getting asked out by a mutual friend who was fairly effeminate. This dug into my ex like a rusty nail because he saw it as being replaced by a girly queen. Which is basically what happened and I'm still comfortable with that. My new guy's been a keeper.

I continue to lift for both my health + welfare as a gay man, but also for my partner who's been great to me. I figure part of my obligations as a well treated significant other is to try to keep myself at least mildly attractive for him, because he's doing the same for me. I get that along with the health benefits. And having muscles has been a noticeable advantage in my work as a registered nurse. I rarely have to call aides to assist me in treatments; I can lift patients all by myself without strain. I get a surprising amount of praise for it at the hospital I work at, since my female coworkers call on me often for help. It's a nice feeling.
