another (former) friend of mine is also currently teaching english abroad

he doesn't know the difference between "your" and "you're", thinks it's "should/could/would of", uses adjectives in place of adverbs, etc.

normally, i wouldn't care that much, but these guys' jobs are to teach english...

You don't necessarily have to change the pronunciation of "the" with the words presented.
