there was a pretty half-assed Kirby spin-off last month

they claim they'll keep supporting it for a while so I'm hoping for some last-minute localizations this year, notably Puzzle & Dragons X and Yo-kai Watch 3, Dragon Quest XI is at least happening on PS4 but I want the 3DS version too since it's basically two whole extra games

I've heard excellent things about Alliance Alive from importers, apparently it takes some elements from Suikoden and SaGa to make itself its own thing unlike Legend of Legacy which was just a poor man's SaGa. I think there's even the writer from the early Suikoden games on it? Not sure on that though.

Within like a couple days of Dragon Quest 8 coming out, someone imported all the PS2 costumes that were cut out into the 3DS version. I love it.

Plus you can inject custom pokemon right into the carts too >_>

Etrian Mystery Dungeon already got announced and released in Japan, so it's not that either. This last 3DS title is a proper title, which they described as a "festival" title, so who knows exactly what it'll be. An Etrian All-Stars hodgepodge remix of the past five, maybe?

Hopefully its some comedy sort of spinoff and they're working on a fully fledged EO game for the switch.

Yep, or patch games with things that were removed from localization like dual language. My favorite function is much simpler though and it's the classic save backups. You can backup saves in an instant with jk manager unlike the hoops powersaves make you go through. The Switch unfortunately also has no save backups, so it's up to the homebrew scene to make one again. Cookie Bag posted...

Something about a "festive culmination" of the series for the 3DS. Hopefully that means they'll continue making games for the switch/other consoles though and not just completely end the series there.

I forgot I had the thing, was covered in dust when I picked it up. Plus I can get one on craigslist for 120-130 if so inclined. Or go for the 2DS XL instead since I never use the 3D. But again support is clearly dying so why not. And with Pokemon going to the Switch later there was no reason for me to hold onto it.
