Yes but you have to have good technique. Most people get the technique wrong. Like most untrained people freak out and tap out anyway but without the proper technique it's very hard to force someone to go unconscious with it. Basically, if you're gonna do it in a street fight, do it right.

Yeah it's pretty hard to lock in correctly if someone is really going aggro and fighting back. And it's easy to defend against if you know how to.
