Yeah I'm using a map. While I enjoyed winging it for quest 1, some of the secrets are way too cryptic. I'm just going to arm myself to the teeth early on and then conquer the dungeons. I won't use a guide for those.

When I was a kid I thought Link was named Zelda so I would always enter "Zelda" as my name. It was a long time before I found out I was always playing the second quest.

The original Zelda for me is my favorite game of all time, such a classic.

that's what I was going to suggest, use an overworld map but not a dungeon one. dungeons are a lot more self-contained and there's a lot less things to wander around trying endlessly while lost

In Dungeon 3 now. So much easier after I got the Blue Ring and White Sword, lol. Just got a couple more secret Heart Containers left and one more dungeon before the Magic Sword.
