Ummmmm it's almost like you haven't read the thread at all.

People are still getting food and if anything food that has more nutritional value than garbage they buy at the store and they get it delivered right to their door step.

More money spent on shipping = less money for food.

Pure speculation.

However if we are speculating I can do the same and say it saves people travel time and expenses driving to the store especially in cities where they might have grocery deserts.

The plan will only be opposed because it's Trump proposing it. Recall the Democrats moaning that poor people don't have access to nutritious food during the Obama administration. Well, now Trump wants to do something about that, and the result? More moaning.

Proved right before I could even make the post. Damn I'm on point.

Canned food isn't nutritious.

Reading the post helps.

U.S. The so-called USDA America's Harvest Box would contain items such as shelf-stable milk, juice, grains, cereals, pasta, peanut butter, beans, canned meat, poultry or fish, and canned fruits and vegetables.

Like I said, people will oppose it simply because Trump proposed it.

No if he has a good policy I will admit it. Actually I think this is a good one.

How is it speculation that delivering food to every SNAP recipient's house will cost money?

People traveling to the store are using their own vehicles and fuel.

Because the gov will be buying whole sale.

Grocery store mark up 200% - 300% because they have overhead.

Source on 300% markup?
Wholesalers have overhead as well you know.
Also, so the gov is going to buy wholesale, then work out the logistics of creating special packages for each house and then delivering it. That doesn't sound practical and it sounds expensive.

It would affect households that receive at least $90 a month in food stamps, or roughly 38 million people.

Your logic doesn't make any sense. Amazon sells items for profit. They can mark up their price to make up for their shipping costs and/or charge for shipping. The US government is providing the food, the packaging, all of the logistics involved in sorting out what goes into each package, and then delivering it.

How is Amazon relevant to this?

It's like you're completely disconnected from reality.

You literally thing 1 US GOV $ = 1 $ US Corporate dollar.

It would literally save billions doing this if anything corporate grocery stores are going to make a fuss because they aren't getting that money anymore.

I think there is some merit to this idea in principle. Doing it with all the processed food though probably isn't the right step. Decentralize this giving grants to local food banks with dietary guidelines. Let them get in season fresh fruit and vegetables when available and much cheaper than the processed, centrally distributed stuff. Food banks can go really far with each dollar spent and they would be able to better serve their community than a centralized plan just looking to make Kellogg more money.
