Like most things in life, Valentine's Day is what you make of it. Sure, you can shake your head at the commercialization and the show-offs, but for every one of those, you have couples who plan and genuinely enjoy a great day together. My brother-in-law is going out of town for a few days with his fiancee, and they're going to have a wonderful time together. Hubby and I decided we don't really want to go out this year, so we're going to order pizzas and play Monster Hunter. Neither of those choices are right or wrong. It's being together and doing something that makes you happy that counts. You can say you don't need a special day for that and that's true, but sometimes things get hectic/stressful and romance falls by the wayside in a long-term relationship. So having a special day set aside for it can be helpful.

It's my birthday. I guess it depends on how my day went and how cold it is.

These days I usually take my kid out for some fun time going shopping or going to a movie or something when the weather is warm.

And of course I enjoy spending the night with my wonderful boyfriend.

I don't like getting flowers or chocolate. My boyfriend isn't into that shit either.

I'm indifferent about it personally speaking however I'm aware that it DOES mean something to people around me; people in my inner circle. So I wouldn't mind partaking in a ceremony or ritual regarding it if meant it'll make them happier.

i don't really care for it. I don't see anything romantic for a day you expect for something romantic. Or a surprise when you expect to be surprised.

But as long as people have fun with it I guess.
But for those in a relationship they pretty much feel forced to do something.

Somewhere between "I don't care" and "I love it." "I think it's neat" is a bizarre middle ground I feel for the holiday, and I'm kinda' surprised that's the most positive answer choice available.
