I've been waiting since October when I submitted my application. They finally got back to me... They didn't accept me. Fucking god damn them. Fuck.

You'll have to fight your way to the headmaster. When you get to him rip your shirt off to reveal your dragon tattoo. He will do the same. Then destroy him. Honorably.

Yet I was accepted into Chicago Kent with scholarships which is ranked better. I guess they have easier acceptance though.

How do you find that out?

Kent is ranked #92 and Loyola is ranked #113. So that's 20 rankings better but obviously Loyola is more prestigious and it was my goal to go there.

Looks like even if you do well, there's a good chance you'll be paying more in yearly tuition at this school than your salary after graduating.

So yeah, shit tier.

Where do you get this information?

I'm also considering NIU which is a lot less expensive and I'd be getting scholarships for 75%

Transferring is a risky but available option. People in your situation that can do really well that first year can usually transfer up the ranks a bit to improve where they graduate from. The risk is that you have to do really well (top 10% at the least) to have a chance.

Its a better option when you are in a T1 school already but it is something to consider. Going to a bad law school isn't the end of the world unless you accumulate a ton of debt doing it. Some bad tier schools are dead ends and just leave kids with 6 figures of debt and no real job prospects. Others do a bit better regionally and will help you end up with a job but you will start at the shit end of the legal world and have to deal with the "where did you go to school" question for the rest of your career.

This is not true at all for law.

it's entirely true. You'll have a more limited geographic range I suppose, since Harvard is well-known around the country, but any law school is going to have good ties with the regional community and employers.

Chicago might be a bit of an exception because there are like 7 schools in that city so there's loads of competition but if you do well in school you'll be fine. Top 25% grades in a lower ranked school is still going to catch the eye of employers.
