Idk, about you but at least in the history books i'm familiar with it doesn't go into great detail on the reasons why, more so on what he was responsible for. Idk, could be wrong.

there is a very lengthy & well-documented history of anti-semitism in europe. essentially the jews were the scapegoats for a lot of problems because they were more or less outsiders in every country they went to (being a displaced people).

but something tells me TC made this topic to try and get some alt-right talking points in here

This. One of the biggest reasons was essentially nationalism. He saw Jews protesting WW1 in Germany and thought it was unfathomable how someone would put their own personal feelings before the country's success in war and it just kind of brewed from there into what it eventually became.

Well in "Another Period"

Young hitler was a pacifist and loved to draw. Then he sat down with Hamish and the Doctor (both jewish) for a traditional jewish meal.

He brought up his art and Hamish and the Doctor proceeded to insult him and tell him how terrible it was...

I watched a documentary about it once. The gist of it was that Hitler and his nazi party felt the Jews were exploiting and robbing the German people and considered them downright bad people in general.

The anti-semitism in Europe is complicated and he used it politically. I have no real reason to believe that he had personal feelings either way I think he was a sociopath... I mean he definitely was.

Anti-semitism in Europe did stem from Jewish populations having amassed wealth throughout the low Middle Ages through a tradition of itinerant trading and money-lending as Catholics weren't allowed to commit usury; So Jews were wealthy independent of monarchs and nobility and therefor disrupted the feudal political structure of the time. This anti-semitism would be fed to the masses through folk-tales concerning kidnapping and strange inhumane traditions that were likely fabricated and it didn't help that they weren't Christian, eventually this evolved into the belief that they worked in a clandestine nature against the interests of the good Christian people....

What's funny is they were often invited by christian royalty whenever the royalty needed money for a military campaign or whatever and then summarily thrown out, and this repeated a large number of times...

I'm not the one who made any statements regarding the content of history books except for the one you quoted.

You said "few history books mention why" which is a false statement.

When you suddenly change the argument to "most history books don't mention it" now instead of counting the ones that do mention it, you are counting all history books and from there determine the fraction that do mention it.

I suddenly encountered an apparition in a black caftan and black side locks. Is this a Jew? was my first thought. For, to be sure, they had not looked like that in Linz. I observed the man furtively and cautiously, but the longer I at stared at this foreign face, scrutinizing feature for feature, the more my first question assumed a new form: Is this a German?
...
Wherever I went, I began to see Jews, and the more I saw, the more sharply they became distinguished in my eyes from the rest of humanity . . . Later I often grew sick to the stomach from the smell of these caftan wearers.
...
I discovered a moral stain on this chosen people. . . Was there any form of filth of profligacy, particularly in cultural life, without at least one Jew involved in it? If you cut even cautiously into such abscess, you found a maggot in a rotting body, often dazzled by such a sudden light-a (word that starts with K that shall not be named)!
