from the first movie

Remember that chick that had her head blow up because there was an alien inside of it? I thought it was just some weird egg laid inside her and injected. But it wasn't. Cloverfield paradox basically explains that she merged with an alien from another dimension as the dimensions got tangled. Similar to that guy that blew up with all the worms inside him.

I thought all the Cloverfield movies had the Cloverfield bit tacked on afterwards. (Besides the first one) Like that one with crazy john goodman.

i think they're purposely doing that.

Kinda like a subtle cinematic universe.

No, her body blew up because there was some sort of coagulant in the parasite's saliva that reacted to blood.

Cloverfield Paradox plays like an edgy neckbeard's Rick and Morty fanfic filled with plotholes. My favorite plothole being: the crew interacting with the other-dimensional crew despite those people being dead in that universe's Shepard crash

The Cloverfield movies are all standalone stories that wouldn't have been produced/viewed if not for the name. The aliens are just a plot tool that loosely staples the universes together now.
