How do you define what is right and what is wrong regarding animals meat?
I mean as a jew eating pigs (Bacon) feels as weird to me as eating a dog, and yet to you people Bacon is the most common meat or something
So yeah, while I feel like eating dogs is "wrong", I also know it's just a culture thing and I(actually, all of us) just grew up and learning that it's "wrong"

It's a cultural thing. Like I can't even imagine dogs are great for harvesting and consumption, and they're better served for herding, hunting and companionship.

most South koreans do not eat dogs. very few people of the current generation have ever eaten it, and even the people that have (of any generation) do not eat it often.

that said, the dogs that are eaten are bred for that purpose. you aren't playing with fido one day and then chopping him up for dinner the next

consumption of dog stems from a time when korea as a whole was very poor (which is very recent in the grand scheme of things--my father in law remembers not having three meals a day, and when the Americans came to help with the Korean war, the Korean soldiers were totally weirded out by milk cartons bcuz they were paper holding liquid but not getting soaked, etc.). that is not korea today

It's wrong to eat any meat, especially that of man's best friend. Dogs have coevolved with us for so long that eating them is practically cannibalism. It's even more disgusting than eating a pig. It's like eating an ally.

Pigs are friends. But they have not evolved so closely with humans unlike dogs. Dogs have a level of trust with humans and people see it right to betray that trust just to get a quick meal.
