they did. there is a sister duo who are famous for both getting to the olympics for hockey. but they are strangely on different teams. one sister is adopted as a baby from korea. and for some reason instead of being on her sister's team, she is on the korean team, for a country that abandoned her as a baby and she is not a citizen of. but then they beg her back just to use her skills. And I just don't understand why she accepted the offer and didn't want to be side by side with her sister.

I read the story and doesn't seem like what you're presenting it as, it sounds like the USA team gave one sister a roster spot and the Korean team offered the other sister a chance to play, she's been a Korean citizen for 3 years. No country abandoned her, she was just adopted by Americans (happens a lot, Angelina Jolie syle).

That's nothing special though and what's the point of the Olympics if you can't go pay for your country of birth, the message behind the Olympics is nations come together to celebrate human achievements all continents connected and unified for an worldwide event.

her nation is America though. I just see more significance on the nation that raised you from birth, over the one you were only in for a few months that gave you away. and she has been a korean citizen for 3 years because it takes years to prepare and they planned to invite her to the team 3 years ago. they are only using her. if she wasn't a sports star, they wouldn't have offered her citizenship. my sister is chinese and lived in china longer than this girl was in korea. she was adopted into my family at age 8. and even SHE doesn't have chinese citizenship. china tore it up when she was granted US citizenship in the adoption. and if she went to the olmpics she would want to be on the US team. she has mixed feelings about how China treated her as a child.
