The first is based off the U.S. population, the second is based off the fact that historically, there's been at least one large scale mass shooting in the United States every year for the past 10+ years. What is relevant about those numbers is the fact that people say we don't need to take action with gun control because your chances of dying are low. But if we care about the people to the left and right of us, or even an innocent child halfway across the country, then that number actually matters. The last time there was a mass shooting, Trump, NRA, and friends said "now's not the time to talk about gun control." well it's been 4 months since the Vegas shooting. Is now the right time to talk about? There could be a mass shooting tomorrow, and since right after a mass shooting isn't the right time, doesn't that mean we need to hurry and act fast before it's no longer the right time? I also want to say that those thoughts and prayers that apparently prevent mass shootings seem to be working for the most part for now. but don't stop. keep praying, guys! and when another mass shooting happens, it means someone wasn't praying. screw the whole gun control thing, we have prayer. <cite>gbpxl posted [p:895733298] in a statisti...
