i bought tuesday at the open. 500 shares of VTI, 50 of VO. had to keep it simple because volume was so high that i was getting kicked out of merill edge repeatedly.

still up

most other purchases were early dec and jan. early dec purchases down a little, jan purchases down a lot

i am bullish.

but it's hard not to keep looking

Looking more and more like a bull trap but there's plenty of time for it to turn around today.

Tough though, it keeps bouncing lower every time I look.

What does this mean?

Sounds like a website or app.

merill edge is a website that is my trading platform

so many people were trying to trade that day that it was very hard to get logged in to order a trade

yeah, it feels like one, which is the only reason i don't think it is one.

my gut is almost always wrong.

also, TRIN and relative VIX suggested tuesday morning was a likely bottom. hit 50! the whole thing might've been driven by the total annihilation of the VIX short ETNs.

Added to AMZN, SGMO, bought back into NVDA and started a position in ELY all on the dip earlier in the week and a little today. Was forced to scalp some when we ran back up so quickly.

i'm more than a little astonished at how GE has managed to keep tanking during this phase and not reflect more of a value play than it is

Same day. I checked back in near the end of the day and saw everything had been going in a straight line upward for a couple hours. Made me a little uncomfortable so I did some scalping. Those algos man.

A lot of money managers have been fatigued trying to call bottom on GE. Flannery wasn't going to save the short term stock price. I'll take a shot if it hits the 12s, though.

i think you made a good call

esp if you bought at the open

my market orders at the open are still up a good bit

really don't think we're in a bear market, and if we are not, it shouldnt correct too much more

i am prepared for however much volatility it takes though

It was at 242 so it's pretty much the same as it is now. I'm sure it will go back up, but it looks like this correction is going to last a while.

Im not really worried about it. Sure short term losses don't feel good but I'm here for the long haul. Part of me wants a bear market so I can get in some strong positions at a good price

I've been lazy with buying mutual funds with my HSA/401k, but honestly I think this is the actual fucking market crash we've been expecting for years so maybe I'll just sit out with cash.

Still maxing out my retirements, just leaving new contributions in money market accounts.

It might be, but what's the trigger for it? Does such a thing even need a trigger? There seems to have been some adjusting of investors' expectations of future interest rates, but is that why? Or is this just investor fear finally catching up to an overvalued market?

There's no good trigger though. Everything I've read about the matter says the drop is from a good jobs report and fear interest rates will hike up to lower inflation.

It seems like this debt is even more likely to be paid back now though given that wages have been increasing. Interest on future debt may increase, but would that be such a huge issue?

Don't.

Mutual funds 100%. Keep your fees as low as possible. Let that shit grow for 30 years and retire with a couple million.
