Stealing cell phones seems like a terrible idea. It's so easy to remotely kill them. And unless technology to re-flash them has come a long way, your options for reselling it are limited.

Yea, but if you can sell it before it gets blacklisted or sell it internationally you are fine.
From what i hear they had tons of stole stuff in the vehicle

From what i hear they had tons of stole stuff in the vehicle

To sell it before it's blacklisted would be difficult as it would be blacklisted in hours. Plus some phones are set up so that you need a password to get it started, even if you wipe it. It's a lot of risk for only a tiny chance of payoff.

And selling phones internationally is tough, at least on a small scale. i've sold a few of my old phones that way and it was a pain in the arse.
